The open letter in the Government of the Russian Federation, Russian Orthodox Church and the Mayoralty of Moscow Dear Sirs, In 2015 Russia solemnly marks of 1000-years anniversary of date of dormition of Grand Prince Vladimir, died under official version on July 15/28, 1015. Within the framework of official actions in Moscow it is supposed to establish on November 4, 2015 monument to Saint Prince Vladimir under the project of the sculptor Salavat Scherbakov. The installation place of monument has caused numerous disputes and protests of the public. Originally monument wanted to erect on Vorobjevsky Mountains. Then the mayoralty of Moscow and the Russian military - historical society till August 20 carried out interrogation among Muscovites in which have offered three installation place of monument on choice: Borovickaya square in the area about the Kremlin, Lubanskaya square and Zaryadje. The majority of interrogated people have supported Borovickaya square. However one of these days the Russian architects and city defenders have sharply acted against the given initiative. On our deep belief, an ideal place for installation of monument to Saint Prince Vladimir is square of Novodevichy Convent. The given territory today has muffled architectural and town-planning appearance though it is located on raised place concerning surrounding buildings, big pond and Novodevichy Convent. In Novodevichy Convent there is Moscow diocese of ROC and museum. Near to this area the station of underground Sportivnaya and Vorobjevy Montains is located. In the neighborhood there is pond and extensive territory for walks of citizens, and also parking of buses and cars.
